International Conference on Statistical Distributions and Applications (ICOSDA)

ICOSDA 2019 was organized by Central Michigan University. Professor Mathieu Pigeon was in charge of the session “Recent developments in predictive distribution modelling with applications in insurance,” where several actuarial researchers spoke. A student of the Chair presented the results obtained in his master’s thesis project.

The 32nd edition of the Swiss Association of Actuaries’ Summer School was organised by Professor François Dufresne of the University of Lausanne. Under the theme “Insurance Data Science: Use and Value of Unusual Data”, the scientific directors of this edition were Professors Jean-Philippe Boucher and Arthur Charpentier of UQAM.

Organized by the University of Calgary in May 2019, a student of the Chair presented the results obtained in his master’s thesis.

Science & Analytics Summit

The Analytics Summit was held in Toronto from May 7 to 9, 2019. The Co-operators Chair in Actuarial Risk Analysis was quite prominent at this event, while Jean-Philippe Boucher and Frédérick Guillot made 3 presentations.

Actuarial and Financial Mathematics Conference

Jean-Philippe Boucher was an invited speaker during these two days of presentation. The paper “A Claim Score for Dynamic Claim Counts Modeling” co-written with Mathieu Pigeon, was presented.
